Phoebe is a Pākeha New Zealander of Irish, Scottish and English ancestry. She currently lives on unceded Wurundjeri Country in naarm, Melbourne (Australia). 

She is a physical theatre performer, with an active practice spanning devised physical comedy, therapeutic clown, Playback theatre, improvisation and theatre. 

In her work, she prioritises the improvisation principles of saying yes and being wholly present, alongside curious enquiry that seeks to gently say 'not now' to fear. She is drawn to work which knows why it is being put onstage now and which has consciousness of a world challenged by climate crisis and deep inequality.

She maintains a practice of ongoing training, and has trained extensively with physical theatre practitioners Giovanni Fusetti, John Bolton and Kimberley Twiner, as well as touching in to a wide range of other practices that support her live performance work. 

She is a professional, punctual, dedicated and organised colleague, and currently holds the Artistic Directorship of Melbourne Playback Theatre Company. She has a BA/LLB from the University of Auckland and previously worked as an environmental lawyer.
